TypingHome Website Updates

Mar 3, 2015 | | Say something

For the past month I have been frantically learning php, mysql, and working behind the scenes to update typinghome and I am pleased to share some of the recent updates:

  • Users can now log into the website and track their progress through the twenty-seven currently available lessons.
  • Students can also save typing test scores to the server. Future test feature updates are in the works but are not incorporated yet.
  • Most of the website pages have been rebuilt to make them load faster and have a new cleaner look in my opinion.

So far learning to make a website from scratch has been a fun and rewarding experience despite occasionally feeling hopelessly stuck trying to solve a problem or make a feature work. Watching my new students begin to learn to type on a site that I made has also been very gratifying. I love having a means to implement teaching strategies that would otherwise be impossible to incorporate into my classes had I not begun to learn how to code. Hopefully soon I can add teacher tools to the website so that others may be able to benefit from this resource also.

Thank you for visiting the site. I would enjoy hearing any suggestions or feedback that you may have.

Type on!
